Heartland came out fighting for a win last night against David City in the Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament, but things did not fall their way as they take the first round loss 38-48.

Although trailing, the Huskies kept it close the entire game.  They had a few surges, but just could quite close the small gap.

The fourth quarter was an exciting one and the Heartland crowd got amped for the possibility of a win.  Freshman, Tyler Brown sparked the fire mid-fourth quarter by taking a charge call to get the ball back and hitting a big three pointer.  Heartland picked up the pressure and caused David City to start scrambling.  But, with time running out, it was just too little too late for the Huskies and with a few missed shots and a couple turnovers, they were forced to foul.

It was a good effort shown by the Huskies last night, but there conference tournament play ended early.  Heartland was led in scoring tonight by Freshman, Cole Nickels with 14 points.

The Huskies Girls hope for a different outcome tonight against the Centennial Broncos who defeated Thayer Central last night to advance.  You can watch the game live on the Huskies Sports Network at HeartlandBeat.com if you are unable to attend and cheer on the Huskies!
