The Huskie Volleyball team had their work cut out for them on Thursday night against Thayer Central.  The Thayer Central Titans were preseason ranked #3 in C-2 with lots of the talent from last year returning for them this year. That did not stop the Huskies from putting up a fight.

The team dropped the first two sets to the Titans 25-12 then 25-17.  However, the third set, the Huskies came out with some fire.  Being scrappy on digs and tough at the net, the Huskies won set three 25-21.

The win brought some momentum, but the Titans were just too much to handle Thursday as they finished out the game by winning set four 25-17.

The Huskies also competed at the Kearney Catholic Tournament on Saturday in Kearney.  The team did not get any rest from taking on top ranked teams as they faced Ord in their first match up.  Ord is preseason ranked #4 in C-2 and defeated the Huskies in two sets 25-17/25-13.

The Huskies went on to beat Gibbon 25-8/29-31/25-15. They finished the day by beating Sutton 16-25/25-15/25-17 and taking 5th at the Tournament.

There will be no rest in the Huskie schedule as they travel to Fillmore Central on Tuesday to take on the C-1 preseason #7 Panthers.  Game times are 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30pm.  We’ll be live blogging from the game Tuesday night so make sure to follow here.
